Compensation & Evaluation:
The starting wage for this position is $11.00/hour. This is determined with consideration of university guidance and comparable positions across campus. Employees will be evaluated once per year in accordance with the UWM Student Employee Manual. Employees will be considered for a merit increase at the time of evaluation. Job Description
The Southeast Asian American Student Center (SEAASC) is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to serve in a variety of roles within the office. This individual will be responsible for assisting the SEAASC staff members through daily operations and program support tasks. The individual must be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion.
Job Duties:
Essential Duties Approx. Percent Time Applied
- Front desk duties such as handling incoming communications, greeting and assisting visitors, and 50%
general office maintenance
- Assist with programming and events including developing social media content, creating marketing 40%
materials, and checking students in
- Participate in recruitment efforts as needed such as attending high school visits and tabling at events 10%

Additional Duties
- Attend regular staff meetings;
- Maintain a consistently positive attitude while working with staff, students, and supervisors; and
- Handle special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
- Currently enrolled UW-Milwaukee as an undergraduate student;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Good academic standing at the time of application (cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher); and
- Offered and accepted Federal Work Study for the 2024-25 Federal Aid Year
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have interest and/or background in Southeast Asian American history and cultures at UWM;
- Experience in visual arts, graphic design, or social media design and management;
- Good organizational skills;
- Effective and efficient time management skills and ability to multi-task;
- Demonstrated knowledge of Office 365 and ability to communicate through email in a timely manner; and
- Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn the operations and services of the Southeast Asian American Student Center and UWM
