Library Media Specialist
Duties:
- Areas of information literacy, Acceptable Use Policy, ethical use of information, intellectual property and copyright and use of educational technologies
- Promotes the integrated use of technology as a teaching and learning tool; models instructional strategies and coaches staff members in the integration of technology and information literacy skills
- Communicates and collaborates with the district’s technology department and district curriculum committees as assigned
- Participates as a learner and teacher in district wide meetings, in-service, and committees; participates in educational and professional activities and associations
- Run various Library clubs including: Fiction Addiction Book Club; Graphic, Anime, Comic, and Manga Enthusiast Book Club; HubsREAD Podcast, Lego Club

Qualifications
- Meets current library information specialist endorsement requirements for the Illinois State Board of Education
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- One or more years of experience as a Media Specialist (except in the case of a new college graduate)
- Preference includes a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with specialist qualifications as prescribed by the state of Illinois including coursework and/or background of work experience with hours that include library and information science, instructional technology, cataloging and reference work
- Applicants having classroom teaching experience are preferred
Salary/Benefits:
Competitive Salary (base salary for 25-26 Masters $49,255 $89,953), full paid TRS, full single health insurance and dental, and $20,000 Term Life Insurance. . There will also be additional stipends available for extracurriculars.
