Job Description
Why This Role Is Valuable
This position will support the Risk Management department in procurement of insurance. As an integral part of the team the Risk Intern will work with all facets of the Risk Management and Insurance department including procurement, transactions, claims, captives, and data management. This position will get visibility into the day-to-day operation of managing various insurance programs for Blackstone's Real Estate portfolio. The candidate will be expected to produce high-quality deliverables for various insurance programs and support day-to-day insurance requests.
How You Add Value
- Participate in broker meetings and strategy discussions for upcoming renewals
- Collaborate with internal teams and portfolio companies to gather submission data
- Support certificate of insurance requests from both portfolio companies and lenders
- Support the risk team by maintaining and updating exposure schedules
- Create, maintain, and distribute reports from Risk Management Information System (RMIS) to help the department manage upcoming renewals
- Present an insurance program summary training to the global risk management team
WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE
Required:
- Current junior undergraduate student at an accredited four-year institution (graduating 2026)
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Finance or related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.2
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, particularly Excel
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication (verbal & written), numerical, presentation & organizational skills
- First-class interpersonal skills, including relationship building & maintenance
- Ability to meet deadlines and follow up in a timely manner
- Demonstrate strong teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a full-time capacity for 10 weeks, beginning in June of 2025
