Transportation and Planning Engineer

The City of Saint Paul is hiring an individual within the Transportation Planning Division of Public works to perform preliminary engineering and planning work primarily related to street reconstruction projects.

Here’s what you can expect to do:

  • Lead conceptual layout design for roadway capital improvement projects.
  • Represent Public Works in multi-agency efforts for transportation improvements or studies.
  • Lead community engagement efforts related to transportation systems, corridor studies, layout development for capital improvements.
  • Review and comment on layouts or plans related to capital improvements to ensure compliance with city standards and adopted planning and policy documents.

 Position Requirements:

Must possess and maintain Licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Professional Civil Engineer, and four years of Civil Engineering experience, at least two years of which must be as a Civil Engineer II or equivalent.

Licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer is required by date of appointment. Licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer within the State of Minnesota is required within six months of appointment.
