Livestock Policy Intern, Western Skies Strategies
As an intern at Western Skies, you'll have the chance to engage with leaders across the agricultural industry, advance your professional journey, and gain comprehensive insights into the policy landscape. The Livestock Policy Intern will be primarily working with our client, US Cattlemen’s Association, and will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Summarizing legislative hearings
- Writing formal comments in the Federal Register
- Participating in committee meetings
- Conducting research projects
- Creating social media content
- Recording minutes during meetings
- Tracking grants and policies
- Assisting with conference planning
- Supporting committee staffing and administrative tasks
- Compiling issue-specific articles related to ongoing projects
- Other duties as assigned

This position is open to in person candidates located in the Washington, DC area or virtual candidates across the country. Hourly pay or monthly stipend will be provided depending on availability and location.
All interns are required to have the following qualifications:
- Enrollment in a public affairs, policy or agricultural degree
- Willingness to submit a writing sample upon request
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Comprehensive writing abilities
- Time management skills
- Professionalism
- Problem-solving capabilities
- Exceptional work ethic
