Position Overview

This position is accountable for supervising and inspecting precast prestressed concrete beam manufacturing companies to ensure materials conform to approve Department standards. This position assists aggregate supervision when needed.

 

 

Essential Functions

  • Supervises and performs QA inspections at precast prestressed concrete beam facilities and other precast concrete products to ensure materials conform to approved standards
  • Advises production facilities of problems and when possible, recommends changes
  • Directs and maintains complete and accurate records on materials
  • Monitors for safe operating procedures at producers and for any temporary subordinate personnel
  • Assists Aggregate/Miscellaneous Products Supervisor with QA inspection of various aggregate producers
  • Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering, or job-related technical/science curriculum PLUS five years of technical experience in engineering OR Seven years of technical experience in engineering

Preferred Qualifications

•    Working knowledge of materials testing
•    Experience in the use and calibration of laboratory and field-testing equipment
•    Experience in the use of cloud-based technologies for document management
•    Strong oral and written communication skills
