Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with an hourly pay rate of $25 / hour. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately. 

 

Overview

 

The Southern Glazer’s Internship Program was established to develop the next generation of Technology leaders. Each summer, the program offers interns the opportunity to engage in career building activities while simultaneously learning and applying industry-leading practices.

 

This hands-on experience gives interns the chance to explore and understand the adult beverage industry. The knowledge gained from industry leaders will allow you to build a network of professionals within the beverage alcohol industry and here at Southern Glazer’s. Being a Southern Glazer’s intern means you’ll be invited to our Leadership Spotlight Series, a Community Service Day exclusive to our intern class, as well as access to Professional Development workshops and trainings!

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

As an Intern with our Enterprise Technology Partners, you’ll work in a variety of teams within ETP including but not limited to: Enterprise Architecture & Integration, Digital Engineering, Digital Platforms & Commercial Systems, Data Platforms & Services, Corporate & Supply Chain Systems,   Infrastructure, Information Security, and IT Portfolio & Delivery Management  to gain knowledge and understanding of information technology’s role in the wine and spirits distribution industry. 

 

The structured internship is designed to expose students to the wine and spirits Three-Tier beverage distribution system and the role technology plays to enable business capabilities. Interns will finish the program having gained a broad experience in various aspects of the relationship between IT, sales and operations. Part of the experience will include supporting projects as assigned and defined by student’s specific learning goals, participating in training, on-site meetings, and department wide learning opportunities as available. Lastly, interns will complete an end of internship project showcasing one’s knowledge and present to management.

  • Knowledge in application and software development
  • Knowledge of software design and programming principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to expresses ideas clearly and effectively when speaking and/or writing to individuals or groups, ability to influence outcomes, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately and carefully follow established procedures for completing work tasks. 
  • Strategic thinker – can develop a plan to meet a long-term objective
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to identify, analyze, understand, and prioritize activities by business value and urgency
  • Ability to work through ambiguity in order to maintain momentum and achieve progress
  • Demonstrate respect and value contributions of individuals from diverse backgrounds 
  • Strong analytical, mathematic, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player with ability to demonstrate Agile delivery values working both within a team and working independently

Minimum Qualifications

  • Reside in the vicinity of the internship or have the ability to obtain housing. 
  • Must be a minimum Junior in college and graduating the following year, pursuing a degree in: Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS) and/or comparable from an accredited university 
  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm to work with others to accomplish tasks, assignments and projects.

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
