The Main Responsibilities

 

Interns within the NA Enterprise Up-Market Offer Management group will be part of an accelerated learning experience within the Accelerated Growth Team organization, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Lumen projects. The internship will be virtual and play a critical role supporting Lumen’s growth of enterprise market revenue by developing unique commercial offers that show flexibility and creativity for customers while maintaining financial soundness for Lumen. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns.

Other responsibilities of intern will include:

  • Help fundamentally transform the company and change the technology landscape
  • Work with the offer management team to perform a variety of finance and contract business activities to meet revenue growth objectives
  • Learn to negotiate pricing and contract terms
  • Play a pivotal role in obtaining sales and profitability objectives by providing consultative, strategic, and analytic services to multiple sales teams
  • Position will be responsible for creating internal pricing models for renewal and acquisition market opportunities including informing capital expenditure decision making
  • Position will work closely in partnership with line-level account professionals and will be responsible for creating internal pricing models for renewal and acquisition market opportunities including informing capital expenditure decision making
  • Financially evaluate sales opportunities and provide risk assessment of customer requested terms and conditions (includes business case preparation for EFAA impacted deals)
  • Consult with various internal organizations who also participate in the pricing/contracts process (i.e., Legal, Product Management, Treasury, Finance, Billing, Operations & Engineering)

What We Look For in a Candidate

 

Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate’s commitment for the entire 10-week program. No exceptions will be made.

Required qualifications

  • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship
  • Graduating August 2025 – May 2026
  • Preferred fields of study include but not limited to: Business Administration, finance, economics, accounting or pre-law.
  • Intern must be able to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 – August 8, 2025)

 

Proficiency and understanding of:

  • MS Office

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of creating, interpreting, and communicating financial information
  • Solid financial modeling, analytical skills, and business case presentation
  • Understanding of financial measurements like Payback, EBITDA, and NPV
  • Ability to manage complexity while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to balance deadlines and priorities across multiple pricing requests with limited supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfort and desire to work in a fast-paced environment

 

Compensation

 

Internship compensation ranges depend on each individual’s level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.  

 

 

Hourly Based Pay Range: 
Min:   $22.00/hour 
Max:  $35.00/hour 

What to Expect Next
