Civil/Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Environmental Scientist

NOREAS provides scientific, engineering and environmental services to the Department of Defense, federal agencies, utility companies and private clients throughout the US. Our environmental projects incorporate inputs from geologists, hydrogeologists, chemists, microbiologists, engineers, and construction managers to develop a multi-disciplinary team approach to design solutions for remediation projects. Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Civil/Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Environmental Scientist. NOREAS, Inc. has immediate openings for entry to mid-level positions ranging from 0 to 10 years of experience in the environmental investigation and remediation industry. The full-time position will be based at either our Irvine or San Diego, California offices, and will require some travel. 

Entry/Staff-Level Requirements and Responsibilities (0 to 3 years of experience):

• US citizen or Permanent Resident.

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a closely related field from an accredited university. MS degree is a plus.

• Ability and willingness to travel and perform field work throughout the Western US (up to approximately 50% travel), with the possibility of travel to other areas in the US.

• Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat (or similar). Experience with GIS and /or CAD a plus.

• Conduct field work under general supervision of qualified geologist/engineer, including but not limited to logging soil borings, overseeing groundwater monitoring well installations, and collecting soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediment samples, as well as documenting field activities, and subcontractor management.

• Work under the direction of a project manager for groundwater monitoring, remediation system implementation/operation and maintenance, and other environmental/construction projects.

• Ability and willingness to work outdoors, and capable of occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

• Commitment to supporting a safe work environment.

• Strong writing and analytical skills for preparation of work plans and reports (investigation, remediation design, feasibility studies, etc.).

• Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000

Mid-Level Requirements and Responsibilities (4 to 10 years of experience):

• US citizen or Permanent Resident.

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a closely related field from an accredited university. MS degree is a plus.

• California Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist preferred, or should be willing to pursue licensure. 

• Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat (or similar). Experience with GIS and /or CAD a plus. 

• Work under the direction of a project manager or serves as a task/project manager for groundwater monitoring, remediation system design/implementation/operation and maintenance, and other environmental/construction projects.

• Capable of supervision of complex field projects.

• Travel and field work, approximately 25-50%, dependent on level of experience.

• Ability and willingness to work outdoors, and capable of occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

• Commitment to supporting a safe work environment.

• Strong writing and analytical skills for preparation of work plans and reports (investigation, remediation design, feasibility studies, etc.).

• Proposal and cost estimate support.

• Experience working on Federal/Department of Defense contracts is preferred

• Salary range: $85,000 - $115,000
