Entry/Staff Level Civil Engineer/Environmental Engineer/Geologist [San Diego Office]

Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer, or Geologist, based at our San Diego, California office.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
- 0 to 3 years of experience in the environmental industry.
- Will be based in NOREAS’ San Diego office.
- US citizen or Permanent Resident.
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology or a closely related field from an accredited university. MS degree in related technical field is a plus.
- A strong desire and documented ability to obtain licensure as a PE (Civil) or PG (in California) is required. Candidates with EIT or GIT are preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel and perform field work throughout the Western US (up to approximately 50% travel), with the possibility of travel to other areas in the US.
- Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat (or similar). Experience with GIS and/or CAD a plus.
- Conduct fieldwork under general supervision of qualified geologist/engineer, including but not limited to logging soil borings, overseeing groundwater monitoring well installation, and collecting soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediment samples, documenting field activities, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and subcontractor management.
- Work under the direction of a project manager for groundwater monitoring, remediation system design/implementation/operation and maintenance, and other environmental/construction projects.
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors, and capable of occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to supporting a safe work environment.
- Strong writing and analytical skills for preparation of work plans and reports related to remedial investigation, remediation design, feasibility studies, removal actions, remediation implementation and monitoring.
- Salary range: $74,000 - $84,000 (negotiable).
