Lutron Scholarship for Spring 2025

DeSales University’s corporate neighbor, Lutron Electronics Co. Inc., will be awarding 4 (four) scholarships to DeSales University undergraduate students. These scholarships will be open to sophomore, junior, and senior undergraduate students in various majors for Spring 2025.

• There are 4 (four) $5,000 scholarships available for DSU undergraduate students.
• This scholarship will only be available to first-time recipients (please do not apply if you have already been awarded this Lutron Scholarship or a full scholarship from DeSales University)
• The application/essay will be reviewed by a committee to determine the 4 (four) recipients.
• The scholarship amount of $5,000 will be awarded to a student upon the following:
  1. Completing the Pre-Application: https://forms.office.com/r/wfXAJ9YwBC
  2. Submitting a 1–2 page essay and resume
  3. Meeting the minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 3.2
  4. Selection by DeSales Scholarship Committee
• After the scholarship recipients are selected by the DeSales Scholarship Committee, DeSales will share the students’ information and essay with Lutron.
• The students who are awarded a scholarship will be invited to a meeting with Lutron executives.

Currently, Lutron has four areas of focus for internships and career opportunities:

1. Outside Sales (Domestic and International)
2. Customer Support and Training
3. Continuous Improvement (involves data analytics, artificial intelligence)
4. Supply Chain/Logistics

Application Essay:

Using the STAR method, describe at least two (2) of the 8 NACE Career Readiness Skills that you have learned throughout your educational, volunteer and professional experiences. In this 1-2 page essay, think about how you would share your stories with a hiring manager during an interview. Include concrete examples that show how you have used and acquired these skills.

Upload your resume on Handshake for review in "My Documents". You are strongly encouraged to have your resume reviewed by a staff member in the Career Development Center (Dooling 121).
