Food Services Manager
Summary of Position
The Food Services Manager is responsible for the all food service activities associated with St. Joseph Indian School. This
includes supervising and managing employees in all aspects of their jobs, overseeing and managing all aspects of the
grocery store, school lunches and cafeteria, the food services budget, researching menus and grocery items, continuous
improvement of the cafeteria and dining hall environment, and all outreach activities involving food services. This is an
exempt position.

Reports to the Support Services Director

Responsibilities
1. Manage all aspects of the food service department and all associated activities.
2. Supervision and management of all employees as well as direct supervision of the cafeteria manager and
grocery store manager.
3. Establish and oversee best practices for grocery store operations, product sourcing and procurement, customer
service, and oversee overall grocery store operations.
4. Input annual budget requirements and monitoring the budget and expenditures.
5. Oversee and ensure that the Point of Sale application is updated and maintained with up to date information
and is operating properly.
6. Ensure inventory is on hand, and regular counts are performed and are accurate.
7. Establish and oversee best practices for cafeteria operations including school lunch program, special events,
catering, and menu planning.
8. Oversees and ensures that all outreach services are fulfilled including all food box programs.
9. Familiar with all rules and regulations regarding food preparation, and sanitation, and ensures employees are
trained and in possession of the appropriate and current certifications.
10. Trains all employees in all aspects of their job in order to ensure quality services through an efficient operation.
11. Insures that required local, state and federal requirements are up to date and all requirements are complied
with.
12. Evaluates and oversees menu options and menu requirements.
13. Researches and evaluates the requirements and feasibility for potential additional services, the cafeteria
environment, and the grocery shopping experience.
14. Continuously monitors the food programs to better meet the needs of the students and the organization.
15. Performs other responsibilities as required by position supervisor.
Qualifications
High School Diploma
College degree and/or appropriate food service related experience
Some Culinary training required, certification desired
Experience in grocery store and/or cafeteria management
Leadership and management skills required
Computer skills (including Word and Excel) and Point of Sale application experience
Valid Driver’s License
Physical Demands
Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods.
Driving is required.
May require sitting, standing, bending, or stooping for extended periods.
May require moving or lifting objects up to 20 lbs.
Expectations of Hours Worked
40 hours/wk. May occasionally require hours outside a regular workweek for special events or evolutions.
