Business Intern (Fargo Service Center)

Project Description

  • This internship position will assist with expanding Xcel Energy’s presence in downtown Fargo while increasing support for local economic and community development. The three areas of emphasis will significantly expand and strengthen the Xcel Energy brand, create a platform for a “Clean Energy” educational outreach center as we continue leading the clean energy transition all the while increasing economic development investment and non-profit support for the Downtown Community Partnership.
  • The position will involve the transition with program and outreach development into 2025.
  • Work with the Xcel Energy Fargo Service Center staff to support the downtown Fargo operation. Work with economic and community development leaders doing tasks that support downtown growth, stakeholder outreach and overall community impact with advancing clean energy initiatives. Through practical operations experience and mentoring, a successful candidate will gain significant professional confidence and people skills.

 

This will be a yearlong opportunity (Start date of January 2025) with the potential to extend into an additional year. The candidate should be able to work full-time during the summer and 15-20 hrs./wk. during a school semester.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Enrolled in programs such as supply chain, advertising, marketing, safety and health, management, human resources, training, labor relations, public relations, government relations, business administration, legal and regulatory compliance and similar.
  • Ability to interact with diverse audiences, community stakeholders.
