Therapeutic Counselor (School)
Location: On-Site, multiple locations near Flagstaff, AZ
Hours: 10-20 hours / week
Salary: Negotiable
Commute: This position requires commute (paid hour and reimbursable mileage).
Responsibilities: The Therapeutic Counseling (School) requires weekly on-site services, progress reports aligned with school grading periods, will perform evaluations and re-evaluations for students referred for special education and related services. This role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to develop appropriate educational plans, providing therapeutic services, and maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Deliver certified, high-quality occupational therapy services to students at school.
- Conduct evaluations and develop intervention strategies to support student participation and progress within the general curriculum.
- Utilize a team-based approach, collaborating with families, regular education staff, special education staff, and other service providers to support student success.
- Perform assessments to gain a comprehensive understanding of each student's skills and needs.
- Provide culturally sensitive services in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as adhere to Special Education laws and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Therapeutic Counseling
- Current active license in the State of Arizona.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with school staff and parents.
- Valid Driver License and Comfortable with Commute
- Working knowledge of processes, policies, and practices that impact the efficiency of conflict management systems.
- Legal to Work in the United States and be able to pass background checks and screening.
