Actuarial Associate

Please note: Start date is Summer 2025. Early starts may occur based on business needs. 
 

How you will make an impact

Works on a variety of client service projects under the supervision of more experienced consultants and with appropriate client contact. These services include actuarial calculations, data analysis and special projects, all at the level appropriate to the individual’s knowledge and experience.

 

  • Assist clients teams in completing valuation reports in accordance to GASB 74/75 and ASC 715
  • Request data from clients and analyzes data in comparison to what has been received in the past. Asks questions on discrepancies when necessary
  • Develop a per capita claims cost using a combination of claims experience, manual rate tools, and plan premiums
  • Value the liability for postretirement benefit plans using requisite tools
  • Document the valuation process in accordance to correct actuarial standards of practice
  • Support clients with setting budget rates and other financial analyses related to their health benefit plans
  • Work with client teams to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • May attend client meetings with consultant
  • Special projects or assignments as instructed by manager


About you

Required: 

  • Math, actuarial science or economics degree or equivalent.
  • Passed two SOA exam 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to grasp and familiarize oneself with actuarial terms and concepts.
  • Strong math and computer skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to work on a team.

Preferred: 

  • 3.5 grade-point average preferred.
