Assistant Scientist I, Aquatics

Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for an Assistant Scientist I, Aquatics to work in Easton, MD.

 

Assistant Scientist I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Carries out routine experiments and procedures in accordance with all applicable regulatory (e.g. DEA, EPA, FDA, FIFRA, OECD, etc.) requirements as defined by protocol, method, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist/perform in-life studies, including preparing test solutions and daily maintenance of test systems.
  • Collect and analyze biological data.
  • Performs analysis, first level, and peer review of data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide guidance to technicians on the proper conduct of study assignments.
  • May assist in preparation of data and final reports for completed projects or studies.

 

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Coursework, degree or experience in microbiology, mycology, and/or phycology preferred.
  • GLP experience preferred.

 

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or other directly related field or degree with comparable coursework in the above areas.
  • In some cases, comparable demonstrated competence and experience in the relevant area may be used to substitute in whole or in part for the Bachelor’s degree.
  • Familiarity and/or experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

 

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with some weekend shifts required as needed.  This is an entry-level position.  Recent graduates encouraged to apply. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Easton, MD are encouraged to apply.
