Job description
The EAGLE Scholars AmeriCorps Member serves to support the EAGLE Scholars program, which promotes college readiness and creating independent learners. Three members will be recruited for this program: one assisting Scholars in 7th and 8th grade, one assisting Scholars in Grades 9 through 11, and the other assisting Scholars in 12th grade.
Primary duties include:
- Building relationships with and offer assistance to assigned EAGLE Scholars including, but not limited to, setting bi-weekly meetings with each Scholar via Zoom and conducting weekly in-person activities.
- Utilizing the EAGLE Scholars database platform to keep track of all interactions with Scholars.
- Assisting Scholars with time management and other college-related skills.
- Connecting Scholars to resources needed for school and family situations.
- Creating, facilitating, and conducting after-school extracurricular classes for Scholars.
- Attending virtual and/or in person field trips with Scholars.
- Assisting with administering student assessments and collecting data for Eagle Scholars Programming
- Developing, managing and maintaining robust opportunities for Scholars to engage in their community and receive community service hours, serving alongside Scholars in a range of opportunities.
- Developing and hosting career related workshops focused on skills development including resume writing, career research, informational interviewing, etc.
Members also assist with program-related special projects and events as determined by site staff, as long as these requests are within the AmeriCorps guidelines and do not take away time from essential functions.
This location requires a total service commitment of 675 hours.
Benefits include
Living Allowance of $8,100.08; paid out biweekly ($426.32)
Education Award of $2,817.14; earned at the end of term.
