2025 University Recruiting- Translational Genome Analytics, Computational Biology Co-op
The Future Talent Program within the our Research & Development Division Data, AI, and Genome Sciences (DAGS) Department is offering co-op opportunities that last a period of six months. We have 2 positions at multiple US locations. Candidates can apply for the opportunity to be involved in one or more of the computational biology projects listed below. These projects are designed to enable students to further develop their skills and to evaluate if we are the right company for their long-term goals. We are seeking highly motivated and talented students with computational skills and experience.
The projects will be in one of the following areas:
Translational Genome Analytics (1 position, San Francisco, CA):
Analysis of large-scale anti-tumor drug sensitivity screens with state-of-the-art machine learning methods, including feature extraction, dimensionality reduction, and classification.
Analysis of sequencing datasets (e.g. RNA-seq, single cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and DRUG-seq) with state-of-the-art methods to better understand cancer biology and support target candidate evaluation.
Data mining of large internal and external databases of molecular modalities for therapeutic discovery, disease stratification, and biomarkers for disease progression.
Translational Genome Analytics (1 position, Cambridge MA):
Evaluation of leading edge cellular and genomics technologies including Optical Pooled Screening single cell CRISPR-sequencing.
Analysis and data visualization of large-scale genetic screens using image analysis and image-based profiling deployed on the cloud
Application of cellular and genomic technologies towards the functional validation of targets and pathways.
Required Education and Skills:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a minimum of a Bachelor's degree program in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Biological Sciences or a related field of study. Students enrolled in graduate programs (MS or PhD) are highly encouraged to apply.
Candidates must be available to work full-time for 6 months in 2025.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Candidates must have excellent academic achievement and analytical ability.
Candidates must have demonstrated superior communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to work well in a collaborative team environment.
Candidates may have interests/experience in ANY of the fields of molecular biology, immunology, oncology, cell biology, neuroscience, but are expected to have a strong emphasis on bioinformatics and/or imaging-based analytics.
For these computational projects, specific skill sets could include one or more of the following: experience with R or Python programming languages, basic biostatistics, analysis of bulk or single cell datasets.
For the Cambridge, MA position: interest or experience in microscopy, e.g. fluorescence microscopy is a plus.
Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected salary range:
$39,600.00-$105,500.00

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
