POSITION/TEAM OVERVIEW: 

Operations Team Overview

The Operations team is a key enabler of the business – we provide investment operational support to various Funds, Separately Managed Accounts and Portfolio companies managed by Apollo, globally. Our responsibilities span Trading Operations, Middle Office, Pricing & Reference data, Reconciliation, Treasury Operations, Business Management & Strategy – with a critical focus on risk management & the generation of scale.

 

Position Overview

Apollo is looking for a motivated and forward-thinking individual to join the Operations team. This team collaborates with many different teams firmwide including senior leadership, Finance, Internal Audit and Compliance. As well as various external parties including Funds, Separately Management Accounts and Portfolio Companies managed by Apollo. As a Summer Intern with the Operations team, you will partner with junior and senior level professionals on a range of activities and projects to provide end to end operational support for the team. The ideal candidate will possess high learning agility, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work efficiently with collaborators at all levels.

 

Examples of skills you will gain through this Internship:

  • Product knowledge exposure to private and public assets
    • Bank Debt and respective facility types; term loans, revolvers, delayed draws, etc.
    • Commercial Real Estate loans
    • Public Funds
    • Corporate Bonds
    • Credit Default Swaps
    • Corporate Actions– Mandatory and Voluntary 
    • Foreign Exchange (FX)
    • Equity/Options (listed and otc)
    • Financing Instruments (REPOs, Bond Forward etc.)
  • Understanding of finance (P&L/NAV/etc.)
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Opportunity to demonstrate strong work ethic, initiative and deep desire to learn and strengthen individual abilities
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word) is required
  • Experience with VPM, Everest, Thinkfolio, IMActions 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your responsibilities will include:

You’ll also 

  • Data maintenance and timeliness of activity processing with adherence and evidencing of controls
  • An understanding on the synchronization and workflow of the different applications used with the Operations group on a day to day
  • Partnering and collaborating with various internal teams at Apollo at numerous management levels
  • Updating process documentation and able to evidence controls and calculations
  • Responding to queries, building relationships, and working with external parties to resolve various issues
  • Work to improve end to end operational support, including enhancement of processes & learning tools
  • Responsible for ad-hoc requests

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: (Academic, Professional, Experience)

 

  • Pursuing a BA or BS in a STEM or Business-related program (Class of 2026) with an excellent academic record and a demonstrated interest in finance/human capital through previous internships, jobs, and coursework
  • A critical thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills who expresses their thoughts and ideas clearly both in oral and written communications
  • A collaborative thinker who can also work independently, multitask, and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive and organized self-starter with a positive attitude, powerful work ethic, strong attention to detail, and experience and comfort in Excel

The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$100,000.  Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location.  Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
