Job Summary:

The College of Engineering invites applications for a part-time (0.49 FTE ), 12-month, fixed-term Faculty Research Assistant position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Dean.

This position is mainly involved in conducting research in 3D computer vision, especially point cloud deep networks. The responsibilities include programming deep learning algorithms on 3D point clouds, conducting experiments on public benchmark datasets, and contributing to and co-authoring publications in this area.

Key Responsibilities

34% Implement algorithms for point cloud deep networks.

33% Implement computer code for conducting experiments and conduct experiments that test and compare point cloud deep network algorithms, including self-implemented and external on public benchmark datasets in a scientific manner.

33% Prepare reports, perform data analysis/draw conclusions from analysis, and assist with writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications. Work collaboratively with staff, faculty, and students to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive research environment.

What You Will Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related area
• Experience working effectively with diverse groups of students, researchers, and staff.

What We Would Like You to Have

• Strong programming skills
• Excellent knowledge of deep learning
• Knowledge of point cloud-based deep networks

All work is performed in computer laboratory environment
