Job Title: Ag Business Development Intern
Salary: $15 per hour

This internship provides an opportunity to engage in marketing, promotion, education and business development efforts for the Missouri Grown program and the Domestic and International Marketing teams within the Ag Business Development Division at the Missouri Department of Agriculture.
Missouri Grown connects consumers to Missouri's farmers and ranchers. The internship is full-time in the summer, as the Missouri Grown team plans for the Missouri State Fair and the Domestic and International Marketing team organizes and plans for various events and activities. The internship is part-time in the fall and spring to accommodate traditional semester courses.
When working for the Domestic and International Marketing Program, the funding is through the Food Export Association of the Midwest USA. The intern will be stationed in Jefferson City, Missouri and will work with the Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Domestic and International Marketing Program but will be classified as an independent contractor with Food Export.

What You'll Do:
- Assist in planning the Missouri Grown Market and AgVenture at the Missouri State Fair
- Assist with the Senior and WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program
- Assist with the Missouri Grown membership programming
- Lead recruitment efforts for Food Export activities.
- Organize international trade leads for Missouri small businesses.
- Assist in hosting international visitors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a current college student Majoring in agriculture, agriculture business, agriculture communications or a similar degree program at an accredited college, university or tech school.
Must be able to work in the MDA Main Office in Jefferson City, MO a minimum of 12-15 hours per week during the spring & fall semesters; and 40 hours a week from May to August.
