SEEL: Greek Life Intern
The Greek Life Intern offers a currently enrolled undergraduate student with the opportunity to work in the Office of Greek Life and Community Engagement as the senior most student for all matters relating to Greek Life and Community Engagement in support of the supporting the efficient and effective operations within the office. Also, the Greek Life and Community Engagement Intern will play a pivotal role in shaping the image of Greek Life via photography support and videography support at Greek Life events and management of the Greek Life social media accounts. You will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies, creating engaging content, and monitoring performance across various platforms.
This position reports directly to the Coordinator for Greek Life and Diversity Engagement. As a student assistant the Greek Life Intern is responsible for completing a variety of tasks with the goals of advancing the objectives and initiatives outlined by the Greek Life Coordinator. Additionally, the Greek Life Intern get the opportunity to gain a wholistic understanding of how the Office of Greek Life and Community Engagement operates while gaining valuable communication and other transferable soft skills, and practicable leadership experience.
Responsibilities
1. Serves as the chair of the Greek Life Student Leadership Council; schedules and presides at all Greek Life Student Leadership Council Meetings;
2. Schedules and leads all meetings of the Greek Life Core Leadership team;
3. Serves as the chief student liaison and primary point of contact in support of the ASU Greek Curriculum course;
4. Assists with the planning, execution, and evaluation of Greek Life and Diversity Engagement programs;
5. Serves as the chief student liaison between members of Greek organizations and the Office of Greek Life and Diversity Engagement;
6. Coordinates programming collaborations between the Greek Life Student Leadership Council and other student organizations and academic departments across campus;
7. Attends all Greek Life and Diversity Engagement events with the responsibility of tracking attendance and participation from members of Greek organizations;
8. Receives and documents all requests for Greek members request for exemption from participation at mandatory Greek Life programs;
9. Collaborates with the Coordinator of Greek Life and the council of Greek presidents to ensure understanding and compliance with policies and procedures within the Office of Greek Life and Diversity;
10. Establishes committee’s and recommends appointments of committee chairpersons on the Greek Life Student Leadership Council for programming initiatives of the Office of Greek Life and Diversity Engagement;
11. Maintains all Greek Life social media accounts and coordinates marketing and promotion of Greek Life programs from the Greek Life social media accounts and the media accounts of Greek Life organizations.
12. Creation and distribution of weekly newsletter of Greek Life event for distribution to the Greek community.
13. Assist with Rams in Action (Community Team) to locate community stakeholders for volunteering efforts.
14. Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
15. Manage and maintain the content calendar, ensuring timely and consistent posting across all social channels.
16. Monitor social media trends, audience behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement and growth
17. Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media efforts with broader marketing campaigns and initiatives.
Required Job Qualifications
The Greek Life intern is expected to meet the following required job qualifications:
· Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at Albany State University;
· Accrued at least thirty (30) semester credits hours (or sophomore status);
· Proficient with the Microsoft Office Operating Suite;
· Flexible schedule that would allow for participation at Greek Life night and weekend programs;
· Capable of maintaining strict confidentiality requirements on all matters where confidentiality is required.

· Capable of representing the Office of Greek Life where required;
