Chemist Intern

Chemist Intern – part time

This individual must be a self-motivated, detail oriented and energetic scientific person. This is an entry-level part-time Chemist Intern position in the R&D department and based at our headquarter office located in Newark, Delaware.

Requirements:

· Minimum B.S. degree in Chemistry or Chemistry related fields.

· Recent graduate or college student on path to purchasing the above degrees.

· Prefer to have 1 year of laboratory experience.

· Self-motivated, willing to learn different techniques, positive attitude, and work well in a group environment.

· Be able to work with minimal supervision.

· Good understanding of basic principles of chemical synthesis.

· Good analytical skills.

· Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task with attention to detail and confidentiality.

· Ability to communicate results of experiments through proper record keeping.

· Physically fit to stand, bend and twist.

· Work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

· Perform a variety of resin syntheses under supervision.

· Or characterize and test the synthesized resins.

· Follow technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents to support the chemistry experiments.

· Maintain record keeping in notebooks and logs that are proper, thorough and legible.

· Performance of general housekeeping maintenance in the laboratory and cleanliness in work areas.

· Observe safety precautions as outlined in safety manuals and training.
