Corporate Finance Internship

This internship experience provides participants with a meaningful, relevant work experience as part of their academic studies. In addition to daily responsibilities, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a series of structured activities designed to enhance their learning experience including:

  • Presentation Challenges

 

At the conclusion of this position, interns will have increased their knowledge of investing, the mutual fund industry, employee engagement, and a firm understanding of how finance works at an asset manager.

The MFS Summer Internship program is a 10-12-week program, starting June 3rd and ending on August 8th. Students work full-time, Monday through Friday, 35- 40 hours per week and are paid hourly. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Internships are open to students who are rising seniors (class of 2026).

About The Corporate Finance Internship

Our finance team works side by side with each business group to capture financial information including revenue and expenses as well as key metrics that drive the business such as sales and assets.  By working closely with our Corporate Finance team, this associate supports the financial and operational   needs of the business through reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Monthly analysis of general ledger accounts and activity.
  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and support the Corporate Balance Sheet Review process.
  • Involvement in the monthly financial statement close process.
  • Assist in preparation of journal entries in general ledger.
  • Assist in oversight of the calculation and reporting of financial intermediary payments.
  • Ad hoc projects and analysis as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Working toward a Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in finance, accounting or other related financial discipline.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including listening skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, and self-motivated.
  • Ability and willingness to handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced casual yet professional environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail and organization.
