Assistant Director of Admissions

Primary Function: The Assistant Director of Admission is integral to the success of the Admissions Office. He or she is responsible for supporting the work of the Admissions team in creating positive interactions with prospective students and current families. The perfect candidate is energetic, creative, and passionate about bringing people together to advance DeLaSalle’s mission and our long tradition in the heart of the cities.

 

Ethical Standards:  Employees of DeLaSalle High School must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of DeLaSalle High School. Although specific position may not require the employee be of the Catholic faith, it is expected that all employees respect the Roman Catholic doctrine and religious practices. Representative Responsibilities:

  • Organize and process admissions materials for prospective students.
  • Assist in the operation of Islander for a Day visits and on-campus tours.
  • Aid in the execution of on-campus admissions events.
  • Advise students and families regarding educational opportunities and options; admission and other requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Conduct middle school visits and presents to current grade schools during fall months.
  • Assist with oversight of the Admissions Student Ambassador Program.
  • Review and compile student admission applications and related documents. 
  • Perform administrative functions such as admissions database management, word processing, mailings, physical and digital filing
  • Assist with major Advancement Office Events including but not limited to the Summer Bridging Event Series, Alumni Weekend, Homecoming, Gala, Open Houses, Entrance and Mastery Exams, Registration, and Enrollment Orientation

Other Responsibilities:  Additional responsibilities identified as needed by the employer and approved and/or assigned by the supervisor. 

 

Qualifications:

  • BA degree or higher preferred
  • Organized and creative
  • Adaptable and agile in workflow 
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills
  • Extroverted personality with a competitive spirit
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse groups of people
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Versed in social media and digital communications 
  • Proficient use of computer, office equipment, and appropriate software to perform tasks 

(Windows and Google Applications a must, Finalsite and design software a plus)

  • Able to work 40 hours per week including occasional weekend and evening work
