Data Analytics Intern - Balsam Brands (hybrid)

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and generate reports on year-end sales trends, seasonal performance, and key events through the Holiday season
  • Review the performance of selected products and determine profit viability
  • Evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns such as catalog 
  • Assist in the preparation of data visualizations, dashboards, and presentations to cross-functional partners 
  • Assist with migrating data reports to a new system 
  • Support the team with ad-hoc data analysis requests related to year-end performance metrics.

 

Qualifications / Applicant Requirements:

  • Current student pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Genuine enthusiasm to work with and analyze data
  • Hunger to constantly learn and self-teach
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, both in writing and verbally
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to move multiple projects forward simultaneously 
  • Experience in Microsoft Power BI is a plus
  • Experience in any SQL language a plus
  • Experience with Python or other related programming language a huge plus
  • Available for some hours in the office on Tuesday and/or Wednesday

 

Skills intern will develop:

  • Gain hands-on experience with data ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Loading Techniques) learning how to clean and prepare data for analysis using Snowflake, Python and Power BI
  • Develop skills in creating clear and effective data visualizations using Power BI and/or Python to help communicate insights and trends to both technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Learn how to perform EDA (Exploratory Data Analysis) to uncover patterns, anomalies, and inform stakeholders of trends to help them read the business clearly
  • Ability to build and present a data driven story with recommendations clearly and effectively to cross-functional partners.
