Electronics Hardware/Software Intern (Year-Round)
Your tasks
- Designs electrical equipment, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and automotive purposes
- Designs and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing software and hardware products
- Develops software applications for controls, instruments, and systems for automotive, and industrial uses
- Uses engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
- Develop software requirements specifications in agreement with customer and in accordance with existing specifications (customer, supplier, and/or internally)
- Align Brose specifications in agreement with customer and the customer team in consideration of existing specifications (customer, supplier and/or internally)
- Coordinate the creation of required documents, drawings and specifications
- System testing
- Support other functions/groups as needed
- Flash samples as needed
- Research and review customer and supplier standards
- Investigate and advise on electronic product innovations
- Support headquarters with all electronics related competitor activities as well as new technology ("benchmarking")
- Be an active member in the Development Team
- Support electronics software related test/prototype activities
- Maintain test and prototype equipment for electronics as required
- Adheres to Brose North America (BNA) Quality Policy
- Considers all valid Procedures, Job Instructions, and Organizational Instructions
- Support software issues at customer if required
- Adheres to all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and implements all necessary measures for work, health, and environmental protection within the range of responsibility
Your Profile
- Major: Computer Science and Electrical Engineering
- Start Date- This position is planned to start ASAP
- Hybrid (in office at Auburn Hills location 3 days a week dependent on school schedule)
- Able to work 20 hours per week on average during the school year/ flexible schedule
- Able to work 30-40 hours per week on average during the summer/ flexible schedule
- Enrolled in a college or university seeking a Bachelor's with a planned graduation date of December 2025 or later
