Intern-Golf Retail - Whistling Straits
Location: Kohler, WI
*This is a 6 month internship and applicants must be available from May through October
Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run are located in beautiful Kohler, WI. Owned by the Kohler Company, Kohler Hospitality is a premier golf resort in the Midwest. Kohler Hospitality owns and operates Whistling Straits Golf Course (36 hole), Blackwolf Run Golf Course (36 hole), The Baths Par 3 Course (10 hole), the American Club, Inn on Woodlake, Lodge Kohler, Old Course Hotel (St. Andrews, Scotland), Kohler Water Spa, and many other resort outlets.
Opportunity
Under limited supervision, the Intern-Golf Retail will assist the retail leadership with the guest experiences in the pro shop, organization of stockroom, inventory management and coordination of restocking & presentation of shop merchandise.
Specific Responsibilities
- Greet, welcome, and assist all guests on their purchasing needs.
- Assist with merchandise deliveries from central receiving and take the lead in overall organization and cleanliness of the retail stockroom.
- Ensure that the pro shop is restocked daily, ensuring size runs are complete and all inventory is neatly folded & merchandised.
- Become knowledgeable on the products we carry and educate colleagues.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and inventory reconciliation.
- Become knowledgeable on all aspects of cashiering, including opening & closing of the register, ringing sales & exchanges, and periodically checking in golfers.
- Become knowledgeable with our inventory management system.
- Assist with leading and training of new sales associates on daily operations.
- Assist with placing special orders and exchanges.
- Assist in checking in orders, tagging, and reporting discrepancies to leadership.
- Complete other tasks assigned within job scope.
Nights and weekends are required.
