We have an awesome opportunity for 1-2 work study students to teach After school robotics for Middle grades students. Topics will include robotics, and coding through hands-on activities. Students will receive training from computer experts. Students will be conducting training session in person in Dyer, Lauderdale or Tipton counties. Some responsibilities of an after-school robotics instructor include:
Scaffolding: Guiding students on how to build and experiment with projects
Leading activities: Leading engineering, robotics, and computer programming activities
Maintaining discipline: Maintaining discipline in the classroom
Managing materials: Managing materials for the activities
Supervising: Supervising and engaging with children
Setting up: Arriving before class to help set up and organize activities
Maintaining a safe classroom: Working with staff to maintain a clean and safe classroom
Some qualifications for an after-school robotics instructor include:
Interest in robotics and coding
Interest in STEM subjects
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Interest in working with students in an after-school program
Strong technology skills
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in an after-school program
Experience in robotics and coding
Experience in STEM subjects
Experience with software and hardware such as Sphero Bolts.
Using platforms like Unity or Scratch to create games.
Basics of Programming: Starting with fundamental programming concepts using visual and user-friendly languages like Scratch or block-based coding.
