
Senior Data Scientist

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support our government client, where you'll leverage your expertise to deliver actionable insights and AI/ML-driven solutions in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and data scientists to conduct data analysis, predictive modeling, and research to understand and interpret data trends and relationships.
- Engage with end users to provide training and support in R, preferably using Apache Spark, to drive data literacy and advanced analytics capabilities.
- Develop complex queries, reports, and technical presentations to communicate insights and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Analyze large, complex datasets to identify patterns and actionable insights, driving decision-making and process improvements.
- Stay current with AI/ML trends, advancements, and best practices to continuously identify new opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
- Ensure timely and successful completion of deliverables, maintaining consistent communication with senior team members to prioritize business needs and provide project updates.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor relationships, overseeing partnerships with key technology providers related to your area of expertise.
- Design, build, and implement AI/ML models and intelligent agents, particularly on Azure and AWS, including technologies such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and other emerging AI applications.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, data profiling, and data management.
- Extensive experience working with SQL, Python, and/or R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Strong understanding of a wide range of AI/ML technologies, algorithms, and open-source models.
- Experience implementing AI/ML solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
- Proven ability to work with generative AI models and other frontier technologies available on cloud services.
- Experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
- Experience migrating SAS code to Python, R, or Spark is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of broad technology concepts, including AI/ML and their application across cloud platforms.
