Senior Data Scientist

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support our government client, where you'll leverage your expertise to deliver actionable insights and AI/ML-driven solutions in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and data scientists to conduct data analysis, predictive modeling, and research to understand and interpret data trends and relationships.
• Engage with end users to provide training and support in R, preferably using Apache Spark, to drive data literacy and advanced analytics capabilities.
• Develop complex queries, reports, and technical presentations to communicate insights and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify patterns and actionable insights, driving decision-making and process improvements.
• Stay current with AI/ML trends, advancements, and best practices to continuously identify new opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
• Ensure timely and successful completion of deliverables, maintaining consistent communication with senior team members to prioritize business needs and provide project updates.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor relationships, overseeing partnerships with key technology providers related to your area of expertise.
• Design, build, and implement AI/ML models and intelligent agents, particularly on Azure and AWS, including technologies such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and other emerging AI applications.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, data profiling, and data management.
• Extensive experience working with SQL, Python, and/or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• Strong understanding of a wide range of AI/ML technologies, algorithms, and open-source models.
• Experience implementing AI/ML solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
• Proven ability to work with generative AI models and other frontier technologies available on cloud services.
• Experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Experience migrating SAS code to Python, R, or Spark is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of broad technology concepts, including AI/ML and their application across cloud platforms.
