Enforcement Specialist - The Department of Environmental Quality's (DEQ), Blue Ridge Regional Office (BRRO), is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a regional enforcement specialist in administering regional environmental enforcement actions concerning alleged violations of regulations, permit requirements, statutes, and consent orders to bring facilities/entities into compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and policies.
• Knowledge of environmental programs and science.
• General knowledge of engineering and legal principles.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and conduct negotiations.
• Demonstrated skill in conflict resolution, organization, research and analysis, case/project management, and decision making.
• Advanced effective oral and written communication, interpersonal relations
• Working knowledge of word processing, database and PC operations.

Additional Considerations

• A combination of experience and education necessary to fulfill the minimum qualifications above.
