About the team + role

The Internal Audit function provides independent, objective, reliable, valued and timely assurance regarding the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls that mitigate current and emerging risks and help strengthen the internal controls' ecosystem.

Our team provides governance and oversight for the Company and across its regulated entities. The function also facilitates communication of risk management information between the regulated entities’ RHM leadership, and the board of Directors and its Committees, strengthening the Company’s risk management, internal controls, and governance.

Robinhood Markets (RHM) is the parent company of various lines of business, including Brokerage, Crypto, and Cash services.

What you’ll do

  • Build collaborative and positive relationships with business, data science and engineering to identify controls framework and processes
  • Identify possibilities for automation in business / IT processes as well as develop repeatable/automated audit procedures to find simple solutions for complex problems

What you bring

Interns will contribute to projects such as:

Project I

  • Perform test of design and effectiveness of internal technology controls in security and engineering domains.
  • Prepare work-papers and audit reports to document audit scope, procedures, findings and recommendations, including interpreting the significance of audit findings, concluding on findings.

Project II

  • Perform audit tests of controls by analyzing audit evidence and data, preparing audit work papers, evaluating test results, and drawing conclusions on the efficiency of controls.
  • Develop methodology and script templates for collecting, and analyzing large data sets, as well as presenting reports and visualizations to Internal Audit leadership
  • Identify, design, and develop data analytics extract routines on various platforms such as Looker, Databricks, Python to support audit activities

What you bring

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time, masters program in computer science, information technology, data science, statistics, or a related field with an expected graduation date in Winter 2025/Spring 2026.
  • Prior Audit experiences or internships is a plus
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and creatively break down complex scenarios into manageable chunks
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and "outside-the-box" approach to reach a solution
