Media Relations Intern
Little League® International is seeking qualified candidates to join the communications department to support media relations efforts for the summer of 2025 at its headquarters in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The internship will run from approximately May to August and is subject to availability as candidates must be available to work during the 2025 Little League Baseball® World Series in mid-August. The hours typically follow normal business hours, Monday – Friday, and earns $15 per hour for up to 35 hours per week.
Acceptance into the internship is contingent on all applicable background checks. The preferred fields of study include Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Journalism, Sports Management, or related fields.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDIA RELATIONS INTERN AT LITTLE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL
Our internship program provides a hands-on learning experience with one of the world’s most visible sporting events. It provides behind-the-scenes access to the inner workings of media relations in a global sports organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, the successful candidate will assist in feature writing projects, research projects, media relations, administrative tasks, and other daily tasks as assigned.
DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Assisting in the drafting of media materials, including press releases, media alerts, and media guides
- Creating and maintaining media distribution lists for pitching and press releases
- Fulfilling media inquiries and photo requests, including scrubbing photos of competitor logos
- Assisting in the media credentialing process for the Little League World Series
- Producing and editing written content, including features and profiles for Little League official publications
- Conducting research and interviews for feature stories, notable alumni, and award recipients
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDIA RELATIONS INTERN:
- Undergraduate working towards a degree in preferred fields of study including Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Journalism, Sports Management, or related fields.
- Strong writing abilities, oral communication, and computer skills
- Familiarity of the Associated Press (AP) writing style
- Knowledge of social media and current trends
- Strong knowledge and understanding of baseball and softball
- Willingness to conduct research and provide creative ideas for content
- Familiarity with WordPress, the Adobe Creative Suite, and media monitoring software (i.e., Meltwater) is a plus
