Description   

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our cybersecurity team as an intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experience in various aspects of cybersecurity, ranging from vulnerability assessments to incident response. The successful candidate will work closely with our cybersecurity professionals and gain valuable insights into the dynamic field of information security.  

The Mativ Summer Internship Program is scheduled to start on May 19, 2025 – August 8, 2025. Our paid internship offers a well-rounded experience including: meaningful work, dedicated intern manager, community service, professional development and more.   

Responsibilities  

  • Assist regular vulnerability assessments to identify and analyze security risks across systems, networks, and applications.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of security awareness training programs to educate employees about cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats.
  • Provide support during cybersecurity incidents, including investigation, documentation, and participation in incident response efforts.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of security documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement and optimize security tools and technologies.
  • Generate regular reports on cybersecurity metrics and trends to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:  

Required:  

  

  • Pursuing a Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.  
  • Minimum GPA-3.0.
  • Internship or work experience preferred.

Competencies:  

  • Knowledge of basic cybersecurity concepts, principles, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced cybersecurity environment.
  • A team player with exceptional organizational and technical skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to balance multiple assignments at once.
  • Desire to make a strong contribution in a continuous learning environment, while enhancing their readiness for a full-time career.
