Learning Community Executive Director

The learning community executive director performs senior-level work with extensive decision-making discretion coordinating instructional support services to assist schools in achieving desired student achievement goals. This position will support the assigned Learning Community to serve the needs of the schools and community.  Employees will oversee principals in assigned areas to resolve school-based concerns and problems.  This position is responsible for assisting principals and teachers in striving for maximum student achievement.   Employee performs advanced and supervisory work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures related to a wide variety of programs and activities under the direction of the Learning Community Assistant Superintendent. Essential Functions

  • Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
  • Lead, manage and supervise assigned programs/staff in the district
  • Provide day-to-day support and supervision of PreK-12 schools assigned to the learning community
  • Provide leadership and support for principals and assistant principals
  • Serve as a facilitator in identifying and securing expertise and support services to principals, school based support staff and teachers to help them increase student achievement
  • Serve as a coach/mentor to individual principals/assistant principals/teachers/literacy facilitators/academic facilitators
  • Assist building administrators with current and desired conditions regarding district priorities in their schools
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to discuss academic achievement, benchmarks and the community support needed to help schools reach desired academic goals
  • Assist the Community Assistant Superintendent in overseeing the Community functions to ensure compliance with district policy and the strategic plan
  • Serve as a representative of the Community Assistant Superintendent at district, state, public and governmental functions when necessary and appropriate
  • Monitor fidelity of school implementation of district curriculum and program initiatives
  • Coordinate and collaborate with district and community staff to provide timely and appropriate professional development that supports the school improvement plan
  • Analyze data and prepare reports as needed/required ensuring every school meets their SIP goals and the district meets the targets in the strategic plan
