Coalmont Engineering is seeking Junior/Senior Engineering and Business students for an Internship Operations & Business Management role at our Birmingham, Alabama facility.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Operations & Business Mangement role will be exposed to a broad range of operations and business topics that include inventory structuring, process optimization, data analysis, project management, and technical documentation. The role will expand to meet the skills and strengths of the intern while providing hands-on experience in various aspects of the business. The Intern must be able to clearly communicate technical topics to management with leadership and integrity. The Intern must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and driven to manage personal and professional schedules to meet deadlines without sacrificing required quality. This is a developmental position with a fast-paced Engineering company that has limitless opportunities to learn in an apprentice-type environment.
Initial responsibilities could include inventory and material flow design, procurement structuring, process optimization, systems coordination, internal project improvements, project management, and procurement structuring,
NOTE: If needed, Coalmont will compensate out-of-office travel expenses and provide required safety training and equipment.
NOTE: Partial monthly assistance is provided for candidates without residence within 50 miles of the office facility.
Duration: Full/Part Time
Education, experience, and skills required for the position:
· Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or Finance (or Similar) from an ABET-accredited program.
· Proven leadership abilities
· Excellent communication skills
· Self Starter motivated to gain real-world experience
· The ability to get involved with the team and to search out opportunities to contribute without specific instruction.
· A fundamental understanding that experience and knowledge come through actions, struggle, and self-imposed goals that push oneself to be better and therefore more valuable.
Education and experience preferred for the position:
MS Office Products (Excel, Word)
