Mechanical Engineer Supervisor

THE POSITION

In the role of Mechanical Engineer Supervisor, you will lead infrastructure projects for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As part of this position, you will supervise and direct a team of mechanical engineering designers responsible for various construction projects involving refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and related systems. Your duties will involve prioritizing tasks, setting deadlines, tracking project timelines, examining design and construction plans, specifications, and reviewing cost estimates prepared by the design team. Additionally, you will assume professional accountability for the designs created.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Mechanical Engineer 2; or
  • Four years of professional mechanical engineering experience which involved work on any structural mechanical system.


Special Requirements: 

  • This position requires possession of a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
  • This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
