Transportation EIT

Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking to hire a highly motivated, ambitious, Transportation EIT in one of our Mid-Atlantic office locations. The position will offer the opportunity to work on small and large high-profile roadway, highway, trail, and transit projects, in urban and rural settings, located in Baltimore MD.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform work on transportation facility projects and studies that include roadways, intersections, bikeways/trails, sidewalks, highways, interchanges, structures, and railways.
  • Provide technical assistance to the transportation team in areas of design, analysis, public outreach, and project management/coordination.
  • Perform tasks that include research, CAD drafting, calculations, data management, quantity take-offs, and technical writing.
  • Assist with the development of deliverables such as drawings/plans, displays, presentations, specifications, cost estimates, and reports.
  • Maintain adherence to project schedules and milestones.
  • Participate in field investigations as needed.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint), Adobe, and Bluebeam.
  • Familiarity with transportation design manuals, standards, and procedures, such as the AASHTO Green Book and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and critical thinking skills.
  • Commitment to client satisfaction, as well as team and personal growth.
  • Professional, ethical, positive, organized, proactive, and adaptable approach to challenges.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines, work independently, think clearly, have organized thoughts, and draw logical conclusions.
  • Familiarity with Bentley CAD programs including MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, ProjectWise; legacy Bentley products such as Inroads or GeoPak; AutoCAD Civil 3D; and/or Geographic Information Systems.
  • Familiarity with state, county, and municipal transportation agencies in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) registration in Maryland, Virginia, and/or District of Columbia.
  • 0-3 years’ experience in transportation design and analysis for a professional engineering firm. For entry level candidates, internship/co-op experience and transportation coursework preferred.
