Job purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern.
Key responsibilities
- Support manufacturing process development for power electronics Proto builds. Work with Proto operations group to build early units and define and document the process
- Design Fixtures and methods for power electronics assemblies
- Run process studies to prove process capabilities on key product attributes such as adhesive dispense and screwdriving
- Support machine qualification for series manufacturing equipment
- Develop Leak test programs and conduct Measurement System evaluation
- Work with product design team on Design for Manufacturability issues
- Assist with development of new process technologies including automation of assembly steps
What we’re looking for
- Engineering degree – Sophomore or Junior – ME, MET, EE, Physics
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale
- Knowledge and experience with equipment operations – electronics assembly and mechanical assembly processes
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with Solidworks, NX or similar CAD tools
- Experience with rapid prototype processing and 3D printing tools
