Job purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing process development for power electronics Proto builds.  Work with Proto operations group to build early units and define and document the process
  • Design Fixtures and methods for power electronics assemblies
  • Run process studies to prove process capabilities on key product attributes such as adhesive dispense and screwdriving
  • Support machine qualification for series manufacturing equipment
  • Develop Leak test programs and conduct Measurement System evaluation
  • Work with product design team on Design for Manufacturability issues
  • Assist with development of new process technologies including automation of assembly steps

 

What we’re looking for

  • Engineering degree – Sophomore or Junior – ME, MET, EE, Physics
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale
  • Knowledge and experience with equipment operations – electronics assembly and mechanical assembly processes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with Solidworks, NX or similar CAD tools
  • Experience with rapid prototype processing and 3D printing tools
