Systems Engineer

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

Design, develop and implement using web and databases. Work with SQL databases. Write technical and functional specifications. Analyze, upgrade, and rewrite existing applications and process to newer technologies and newer requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with web-based applications.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1.  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent education or minimum of four (4) years relevant job experience.

2.   Minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience developing with either .NET Platforms; VB.NET;  ASP.NET; or C#.NET; database applications with SQL Server 2005 or later; HTML, JavaScript, CSS; COBOL, CICS, JCL and mainframe databases (ADABAS is preferred).

3.  Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.

4.  Ability to effectively communicate complex technological issues in business terms.

5.  Previous supervisory experience preferred.

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

1.  Gather requirements, design, develop, maintain, debug, test, support and improve new applications and fix issues in current applications using web services primarily in C#.Net and Visual Studio.

2.  Design, develop and maintain Microsoft SQL databases, schemas.

3.  Write and optimize queries, views, functions, triggers and stored procedures on SQL Server.

4.  Work with other developers, architects, and users to prioritize needs, choose solutions and solve new and existing technical issues.

5.  Create technical documentation such as design and specification documents and user manuals.

6.   Ensure compliance with process and standards.

7.    Ability to support a 24/7/365 enterprise.

8.   Provide work estimates and manage time to keep projects on schedule.

9.    Supervise application developers.

10.  Performs other duties related to general administrative responsibilities of the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.  The work is performed primarily indoors.
