Student Research Assistant

The Student Research Assistant will assist the Nester lab in the organization and maintenance of the cell culture room and participate in research quality control and optimization. Responsibilities will include set-up of equipment, maintaining the cell culture, organizing cell culture reagents including regular inventory, and ensuring cell culture viability. Student may coordinate with supervisor to plan for and run protein expression experiments. Student may also train for and run transformation, cloning, and/or plasmid transfection protocols.

Upon outstanding performance in the routine lab duties, the student may also have expanded research opportunities through participate in the generation and interpretation of original research data under the guidance of the research supervisor.

This position consists of flexible daily hours available Monday through Friday between 8am to 5pm. We are willing to work around class schedule but 10 hours per week is expected.
