Returns and Distribution Center Lead

Job Title: Returns and Distribution Center Lead

Hourly Rate: $25

Position Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm 30 min lunch

Location: Otsego, MN

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Returns and Distribution Center Lead to join our team. This full-time role is critical to managing our return process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy across operations. As this is our first in-house product management role, you will have the opportunity to shape and improve current processes to promote efficiency. The ideal candidate will not only handle returns and replacements but also help design systems and processes that can pave the way for bringing more operations in-house. This position has the potential to grow into managing the entire flow of product as we expand.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Returns:

  • Efficiently handle and process returned packages and items.
  • Verify returned items against return requests and documentation.
  • Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to returns.

Clean Returned Items:

  • Inspect and clean returned products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Perform necessary maintenance or minor repairs on returned items as needed.

Sort and Organize Returned Products:

  • Sort returned items based on category, condition, and destination.
  • Organize products to facilitate efficient processing and storage, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a well-structured workspace.

Pack Replacement Items:

  • Accurately pick and pack replacement items for shipment to customers.
  • Ensure all packages are properly labeled and prepared for shipment.

Manage Return Center Operations:

  • Oversee daily operations within the return center to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of return center staff as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, with a strong focus on organizational skills to drive efficiency.

Manage Inventory Levels:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of returned and replacement products.
  • Perform regular stock checks and adjust inventory records as necessary.

Palletize Items:

  • Safely palletize and organize items for storage or shipment.
  • Ensure pallets are stable and properly secured for transport.

Process Improvement & Leadership:

  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline current return center processes.
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to lead and manage people, helping to build a strong in-house team.
  • Collaborate with management to bring more operations in-house and develop systems that ensure efficiency and accuracy across the board.

Qualifications:

Experience:
Previous experience in a warehouse, return center, or similar environment is preferred. Experience in a leadership role is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 lbs. Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
