JOB SUMMARY :
Interns will provide human factors and ergonomics expertise. Candidates will contribute to the design, development and certification of systems and equipment utilized by customers and flight crew in various Textron Aviation aircraft.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Evaluate man-machine interface using human factors and ergonomic principles to optimize safety and performance
Perform task and error analysis and cognitive mental workload assessments
Assist with data collection through observation of flight crew activities in lab, cockpit mockup, or aircraft settings
Assist with functional, task, or anthropometric analysis using tools such as checklists, surveys, videotaping, and force measurement
May assist in preparing certification plans, ground and flight test plans, certification reports, and other documents
Qualifications
EDUCATION :
Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in:
Human Factors Engineering
Behavioral Science
Industrial Engineering
Aviation, Cognitive or Industrial Psychology
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
Understanding of basic pilot and aircraft operations. Pursuing or obtained a pilot’s license a plus
Experience with electronic drafting tools such as CATIA V5 and VPM is helpful
Professional and diplomatic demeanor
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
