Help preserve and protect artifacts and cultural resources as an Archaeologist with USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in AZ! You'll serve as a Cultural Resource Specialist, providing guidance and assistance to field personnel and technical teams regarding the conservation, protection and enhancement of cultural resources associated with soil, water, plant, and Native American conservation concerns. 
 

Duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing guidance and training on cultural resource issues to field personnel in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Determining and prioritizing allocation of time and resources to best achieve annual goals of the cultural resource program for the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Serving as liaison to other federal, state, tribal and local agencies involved with cultural resource issues.
  • Providing technical cultural resource sections of contracts, environmental documents, agreement documents, and other instruments of agency intent.
  • Serving as State Staff Specialist in planning and application activities on all cultural resources in the assigned area of responsibility.

 

Relocation and recruitment incentives of up to $30,000 may be offered if determined eligible at time of selection!
