The DWS Internship is an opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experience. Individual projects, participation in speaker sessions and networking events will all be part of the internship. Subject to performance, successful interns may be offered a place on the DWS Graduate P.A.C.E. program the following year.

As an Investments Intern you will:  

Undertake two 5-week rotations within Traditional Asset Classes. A non-exhaustive list of possible rotations includes Trading, Fixed Income Investments, Equities, and/or Xtrackers (DWS’ flagship ETF product). 

Depending on where you rotate, your day-to-day responsibilities might include the following.

  • Day-today management of traditional asset class portfolios.
  • Observing and/or executing portfolio trades and credit default swap orders in compliance with trading procedures and portfolio guidelines.
  • Monitoring the public bond market, assessing relative value, and providing investment recommendations for specific securities that are aligned with the strategy of portfolios.
  • Building and maintaining relationships externally with banks, broker-dealers, and financial marketplace counterparts.
  • Participating in internal meetings with portfolio managers and conducting research as part of the investment decision making process.
  • Working on innovative and creative ETF/index concepts in collaboration with index providers.
  • Contributing to the production and promotion of thought leadership, content, and marketing material.
  • Running product and market analytics such as wallet studies, product comparisons and peer/benchmark metrics.
  • Partnering with Client Coverage and client facing teams to provide commentary on macro events, investment performance and strategies for existing and prospective clients.

 

What we are looking for:  

  • Must hold valid right to work in the US from June 2nd – August 8th, 2025.
  • Must be available to work full-time (including a minimum of 3 days per week in the office) from June 2nd – August 8th, 2025.
  • Must be enrolled and on track to graduate from a bachelor’s or master’s degree in 2026.
  • Must possess less than 12 months of full-time, relevant work experience (excluding other internships).
  • Passionate about financial markets and portfolio strategies.
  • Strong skills in MS Office tools, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
