Junior Maintenance Technician

Position Summary
This role will support the business through maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance. You will perform general maintenance and repairs of equipment and facilities along with the needed custodial duties. This includes trouble shooting issues, carpentry, snow removal, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems within the manufacturing plant and offices to help better enhance plant performance.

  • Assists with installations and repairs, maintains physical structures of the manufacturing plant and offices 
  • Performs general, minor repairs such as (but not limited to) repairing drywall, painting, and repairing other building fixtures, etc. 
  • Inspections of grounds, parking lots and common areas
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs for mechanical and electrical systems by using blueprints or equipment manuals as needed
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, pipes, and electrical systems
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Must have experience and knowledge using any hand and power tools
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems is highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems is highly preferred
  • Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  Secondary education preferred.
  • Manufacturing maintenance experience or related experience preferred.
  • Technical training in mechanical or electrical maintenance is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
