Salary Grade:                          $42,500 – $44,500

Primary Shift (On Call, Y/N):   M-F, 8 am – 5 pm (N)

Travel Required (Y/N, %):       Y, 75%  (local), 15% (non-local)

What You’ll Do:

Volunteer Management:

  • Communicate with all departments of the organization to identify available opportunities and needs for volunteers.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recruitment strategy to attract diverse candidates.
  • Manage the full volunteer lifecycle, including applications, background checks, onboarding, training, scheduling (alongside Program Managers), and recognition.
  • Maintain accurate records of applications, background checks, volunteer hours, participation, and contributions.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication and provide support to ensure volunteers are engaged and motivated.
  • Coordinate volunteer activities, ensuring that tasks align with organizational needs and volunteer skills.
  • Design and execute volunteer recognition programs to foster a positive volunteer culture.
  • Regularly communicates and evaluates with volunteers to ensure the placement fits the individuals’ skills and goals.
  • Maintains and publishes the volunteer program guidelines and procedures.

Outreach & Community Engagement:

  • Build relationships with local communities, businesses, schools, and other organizations to increase awareness of volunteer opportunities and programs.
  • Plan and execute outreach events such as community presentations, workshops, and information sessions.
  • Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and partnership meetings.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop outreach materials and social media content.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts, making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Coordinates and distributes in-kind donations with community partners, donors, etc.

Partnership Development:

  • Identify potential community partners and cultivate long-term relationships to support volunteer and outreach initiatives.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations to co-host events and activities that align with shared goals.
  • Ensure partnerships are mutually beneficial and in line with the orgranization’s values and objectives.

Administrative & Reporting Duties:

  • Track outreach and volunteer program metrics, preparing regular reports on engagement and impact.
  • Manager volunteer and outreach program budgets, ensuring resources are used effectively.
  • Stay updated on trends and best practices in volunteer management and outreach.
  • Assists with all agency events as directed by the Chief Advancement Officer.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

All You’ll Need for Success:

       REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in volunteer management, non-profit, or equivalent human service degree.
  • This position requires a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance.

 

        PREFERRED:

  • Experience in non-profit volunteer management.
  • 1-3 years of experience recruiting volunteers or supervising staff.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
