Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn the specifics of condemnation law, applying the general knowledge from academic studies
  • Learn the specifics of SAD law, county road law, and other relevant statutory provisions (FOIA, Open Meetings Act, etc.) and how they apply to agency’s work
  • Assist legal department team members with various projects as they arise
  • Assist in contract review and drafting
  • Research issues as directed
  • Participate in agency internship program activities including an end of the summer presentation
  • Available to work 20-25 hours a week during RCOC standard hours of operation (Monday-Friday, 9:30-2:30 for the duration of the summer.

Skills Required:

  • The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook proficiency required

Education/Certifications:

  • Second year law school student that has completed Property Law and Contract Law classes preferred
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid Driver’s License
