Step into the past as a Museum Technician at Petrified Forest National Park! This career-seasonal role offers a unique opportunity to engage with the park's rich fossil resources while assisting in the curation and preparation of ancient specimens.
đź’Ľ Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and curate fossil material, ensuring accurate documentation and museum-quality storage.
Engage with visitors in the park’s fossil demonstration lab, providing education about paleontology and park resources.
Assist with the casting and molding of vertebrate material for educational and research purposes.
Mentor student interns and volunteers involved in fossil preparation.
Conduct administrative duties supporting resource management, including maintaining databases and museum records.
🛠️ Specialized Duties:
Perform fossil preparation under a microscope using pneumatic and hand tools.
Work safely using protective gear, including a respirator, to manage hazards like silica dust.
