HR Shared Services Coordinator

We are looking for teammates who are:

What you will do: 
You will verify and process all transactions relative to time, leave, classification, benefits, and employment selection.  

Primary job duties include:

  • Benefits
    • Assisting with all areas of employee benefits to include insurance, retirement, deferred compensation, and worker’s compensation.
    • Assisting with processing enrollments and changes for employees.
    • Assisting with annual open enrollment.
    • Assisting with providing retirement estimates and retirement statements for employees.
    • Ensuring federally mandated COBRA rights are offered.
    • Assisting in the onboarding process with the HR team, new employees, and Training department.
    • Assisting with coordinating wellness events.
  • Leave
    • Serving as the SCDOR Time and Leave Coordinator.
    • Tracking and correcting missing and unapproved time in SCEIS.
    • Tracking all aspects of FMLA, agency leave pools, military leave, extended absence, leave without pay, and other types of leave.
    • Determining service dates for employees with prior State service.
  • Classification and Compensation
    • Verifying and entering personnel management actions into the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS).
    • Performing payroll audits.
    • Assisting with troubleshooting and answering questions relating to SCEIS transactions.
    • Assisting managers, supervisors, and liaisons with the interpretation of classification and compensation policies and Human Resources (HR) regulations.
    • Reviewing position descriptions for accuracy.
  • Employment
    • Reviewing and processing all hiring packets for selected candidates.
    • Creating and coordinating offer letters.
    • Responding to requests for information and assistance.
    • Monitoring the employment of temporary employees and ensuring compliance with State HR Regulations.

 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Either: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience; or
  2. Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalency by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)

 Additional Requirement:

  • A valid driver’s license

 Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.

 

Preferred Qualifications

These qualifications are not required but are considered when setting a starting salary.  

  • HR program experience
  • SCEIS experience with entering and maintaining data in Citrix
  • Knowledge of federal laws and State regulations affecting HR management.
  • Experience working with the State of South Carolina Benefits package including, but not limited to, insurance, retirement, and leave.

  • Hours: Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).
  • Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
